99 Mount Street Façade, North Sydney

Concurrent with the upgrade of the Level 4 Podium retail podium of 99 Mount Street, Next undertook additional works to replace the cladding of the building’s western façade, providing the client with cost effectiveness and program efficiencies. Works involved dismantling the existing 1200 sqm of façade, including fixings, and the installation of a new black 30 mm Vitradual cladding and new framing.

The project required replacement of 18 levels of façade on an operational commercial building. Works were undertaken in a complex and challenging live environment which required careful planning and coordination to avoid major disruptions to tenants. Noisy works were staged and undertaken in allocated out of hour’s times to minimise disruption and maximise safety.

The building is located in the heart of North Sydney on the corner of a busy intersection. Next coordinated with all trades and stakeholders to ensure the project progressed smoothly. The removal and replacement of the façade was achieved via a swinging stage methodology, which was the most efficient method of façade replacement and provided the client with cost savings.

Having the same project team deliver both projects allowed for an informed focus on the delivery of both projects with a heightened understanding of the requirements and constraints of the site. The project team was able to coordinate programming and restage works to integrate all elements of both projects for a seamless delivery.
