Next’s demonstrated capability of successfully delivering projects while working within an occupied environment was a major factor in the awarding of this contract. International postal and logistics company, DHL Australia, continued to operate its freight forwarding and warehousing services during construction of this high-end, commercial fitout.

The fitout of offices within DHL’s warehouse and distribution centre at Huntingwood, required the DHL office staff to be temporarily accommodated in site sheds and other facilities on the site. This enabled DHL staff to continue to function seamlessly and saved the company from incurring major costs to relocate off-site. Next also operated alongside another contractor undertaking repairs to the warehouse roof. This involved close liaison with multiple stakeholders to carefully plan and supervise all work carried out on the site to minimise risks to DHL staff and contracting personnel.

The scope of works required Next to return DHL’s existing office to its original configuration and use. Limited documentation was available regarding the original tenancy fitout but Next was able to meet the client’s needs. A major feature of the project was the implementation of DHL’s worldwide design palette on the existing office structure and fitout.
