Following from the successful handover of the refurbished Nick’s Seafood Restaurant in Darling Harbour, Next was awarded the contract to refurbish its adjoining café.
The café received a ‘facelift’ with works completed on a fast track basis while the café remained fully operational during construction.
The scope of works included a new ceiling featuring architectural recesses, new stainless steel finishes and joinery for the bar benchtop and a suspended steel display cabinet (approximately 6.5 metres) for wine and spirits.
In addition, new wall joinery was integrated with existing timber joinery, which was restored at the client’s request. A new steel door to match the adjacent Nick’s Seafood Restaurant door was also installed.
An important requirement of the refurbishment project was to ensure the large fish aquarium was maintained and continued to operate during the building works.
