The Deepwater Plaza refurbishment is a design and construct project involving the reconfiguration of the existing northwestern supermarket tenancy as well as the upgrade of the shopping centre’s façade and creation of new North Western Entry.

Internal works comprise demolition of the supermarket tenancy including the existing plantroom and stripout of services to return it to its base building configuration.

The refurbishment will involve construction of new intertenancy walls and a major upgrade of services.

The George Street façade is the focus of external works and involves the removal of existing precast concrete panels and concrete slabs for the construction of a new entrance, which will feature extensive glazing, a new awning and signage.

The project also involves the installation of a new internal lift as well as stairs and ramps. The existing loading dock will be demolished and civil and stormwater works will be undertaken. To keep disruption to existing tenancies to a minimum all noisy and disruptive works will be undertaken outside normal trading hours.

Working closely with all stakeholders, Next will ensure ongoing operations of the shopping centre are maintained throughout construction with the safety of tenants and customers a priority.
