The refurbishment and fitout of Custodial Case Management office accommodation at a number of correctional facilities in rural NSW involved major logistics coordination. The Department of Justice facilities are located in the Bathurst, Cessnock, Cooma, Dawn De Loas, Illawarra, Lithgow, Mannus, Silverwater, South Coast and Wellington.
Case Management Units in these correctional centres are part of the Government’s Reducing Reoffending reforms and will provide continuous, consistent case plans for inmates ensuring they can receive targeted programs.
Next grouped nearby projects to be completed concurrently and, where possible, used local subcontractors complemented by a core team of Sydney based suppliers. Security checks were an important prerequisite for all subcontractors.
The office accommodation to be refurbished is found in a range of existing buildings including demountables and comprises classrooms, technical workrooms, open plan office space and interview rooms. All services are being upgraded and new furniture installed.
