Next has been awarded the contract to design and construct The Hensley, a mixed-use residential development in Potts Point. The development, while contemporary in style, has been designed to coexist with the heritage architecture of the surrounding streets.
“We are excited to undertake this project for developer Roxy-Pacific Australia and look forward to working collaboratively with them and their architect Woods Bagot to deliver The Hensley's bold design,” says Joseph Di Girolamo, Next Founder & CEO.
The Hensley comprises of 44 luxury apartments of one, two and three bedrooms and a communal rooftop terrace, which has extensive views of the city skyline. A commercial tenancy will be located on the ground floor.
The design celebrates the art deco features of the former building on the site. Sections of the building façade have been retained and will be restored from masonry salvaged from the demolition. Behind the retained facade, Next will construct a striking structure with modern renders, steel and glass to resonate with the design intent of the building.
In addition, premium quality internal finishes, fine craftsmanship and rich materials including stone benchtops, timber herringboned pattern floors, exposed brick feature walls, craft high-end joinery will capture the modernist style.
The Hensley is located at 37-41 Bayswater Road, Potts Point.
