Next on track with the construction of Green Star Facility for Storage King

Storage King Pymble

Next are progressing well with the design and construction of the 4 Star Green Star self-storage facility for Storage King in Pymble.

“Our methodology for the works will ensure we achieve and exceed the quality requirements for the whole of life cycle of this asset for both the client and end-user,” said Next CEO Joseph Di Girolamo

The project is located on a 3,200 square metres site at 3-5 West Street, Pymble and involves design finalisation and alterations and additions to an existing building comprising a four storey office and warehouse / distribution centre. The office building is currently tenanted on Level 2 and Next has sequenced works to enable the business to remain operational during construction.

"This project is another example of working within a live environment to ensure minimal disruption to building tenants through our experience with such projects and company ethos of building collaboratively." Said Next CEO Joseph Di Girolamo.

The scope of works for the development involves part demolition of the existing building and retention of the existing warehouse structure, which will house a new part three level and part six level structure to accommodate self-storage units of various configurations and size.

The facility will also include a new retail space with offices, meeting room, storerooms, kitchenette and accessible amenities.

Next have staged the demolition and construction program to extend the footprint of the existing building and the internal reconfiguration of all levels. Two new levels will be added to the top of the building and new floor plates inserted within the building envelope. The project will comprise precast wall structure and post tension concrete slabs.

The project also requires the design and installation of major services including electrical, hydraulic and mechanical. The internal fitout includes the installation of high quality finishes to meet acoustic and fire ratings.

External works include construction of heavy-duty hardstands for car parking and access for B-Double and forklift vehicles, security fencing and gates as well as general landscaping.
