Significant progress is underway at our Uniting Edinglassie Aged Care project, with the completion of the hybrid steel / light weight roof structure, roofing and façade bringing us another step closer to a watertight building.
The Next team completed a full re-design of a number of critical structural elements for the 100 bed aged care facility. This re-design will provide future flexibility for Uniting, providing a versatile layout on the top floor with all main structural elements clear of internal floor areas.
We have worked closely with all stakeholders from the early stages of the project to capture end-user preferences and requirements, mitigating later reworks and reducing life cycle costings for our client. Design changes have included modifications to the back-of-house areas, upgraded security, nursecall and information technology systems.
The team are making great headway with the internal fitout works following sign off of the benchmark room. The façade is articulated with various finishes including Barestone cladding, face brick and block, render and aluminium cladding. Installation of louvres and sun shades are to follow.
Well done to the project team who have continued to deliver the project in the operational aged care village with precautionary COVID19 restrictions to protect the Uniting Edinglassie community, our project team and visitors to the site.
We are proud to be delivering the project alongside Uniting and look forward to welcoming the community into their new homes. Watch this space!
