The Next team reached a significant milestone with the structural top out at our Mark Moran Group Aged Care Facility project located at 1496 Pacific Highway, Warrawee!
On completion, the state-of-the-art facility will feature 104 high-end aged care suites, luxurious gardens, cinema, SPA pool, AI/VR and gymnasium.
Next and Mark Moran Group celebrated the successful completion of the structural phase of the project with a socially distanced topping out ceremony. The long-held construction ceremony involves placing a tree on the top of the building as a symbol of growth and to signify the achievement of completing the structure. The Most Reverend Peter Jensen, former Archbishop of Sydney and Metropolitan, presided over the ceremony, blessing the building and its future residents. Co founders of MMG Group, Mark and Evette Moran and family were in attendance and commemorated the event by imprinting their hands into a framed panel of wet concrete, which will hang in the operational facility.
‘We would like to highlight the commitment of the team together with our client MMG and celebrate their continued hard work, particularly with the challenges COVID-19 has presented.’ said Next CEO, Joseph Di Girolamo.
The team and the key stakeholders have continued to progress on target with works whilst implementing our strict Covid-19 risk mitigation plan on site to protect their co-workers and the community.
From the project’s inception, the Next team have worked closely with our valued client MMG to develop, coordinate and finalise the design of this exceptional Aged Care facility. The team’s swift structural design approval within 4 months allowed works to progress. Building A and B are Topped Out with internal works now well underway including Swimming Pool and Cinema Fitout along with the Commercial Kitchen/Laundry and installation of Lifts.
Significant site constraints, including close neighbouring residential properties, Warrawee Public School and the high-density traffic on Pacific Highway have required meticulous project planning and management on a daily basis to ensure safety, public amenity, timely completion and high standard of quality is achieved.
The project is planned for completion in April 2021. Well done to the Next team, Essence Project Management and Benson McCormack Architecture for the excellent progress to date and for bringing the vision of Embrace Warrawee to life!
